Yannis Karalis

Consultant, Research Policy-Making

Mr. Yannis Karalis studied Electrical Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens. After his studies, he worked at the same University as principal investigator in several energy-related transnational cooperation programmes and in parallel as lecturer teaching undergraduate and graduate courses mainly in the thematic areas of decision-making processes and energy analysis.
He has over 25 years of professional experience in the design and implementation of major EU projects in areas including energy and environment, HR development and life-long learning. As management consultant to public institutions he has systematically worked with ministries, central government agencies and local authorities in Greece and abroad. He has implemented various international projects related to strategic business planning, design and reorganization of business processes, innovation, energy analysis and analysis of institutional and regulatory frameworks.
In the course of his career, Mr. Karalis has served as Director General of the Hellenic Association of Management Consulting Firms (SESMA), Secretary General of the Hellenic Association of Power-Heat Co-generation, and member of the Board of the non-profit Development Partnership “ATHINA”. Additionally, he is a frequent lecturer at business management seminars, author of numerous technical articles and reports, and co-author of the book “Cogeneration-Combined Heat and Power”.
His collaboration with Seven Sigma begun in 2017 and involves consulting services on research policy-making, interregional innovation partnerships and implementation of business innovation projects.
