Seven Sigma took part in the inaugural conference of the e-CODOMH cluster, dedicated to modern technological advancements and sustainable solutions in the construction sector. The conference brought together key industry representatives, research institutions, and organizations, serving as a hub for knowledge exchange and the promotion of new practices in the construction field.
In this context, Dr. Minos Eleftheriou (Head of Research & Development) delivered a presentation titled “Patent Mapping as a Strategic Tool for Innovation and Technology Commercialization.” During his talk, he highlighted the value of patent mapping as a strategic instrument for identifying technological trends, supporting innovation, and reducing technological risk. The presentation was based on Seven Sigma’s related study within the e-CODOMH B2B project “Business Development and Innovation Plans for Sustainable Constructions, Buildings, and Infrastructure.”
The presentation began with a brief introduction to the patent landscape, outlining key terminology and international statistics. It specifically referenced the performance of the United States, China, and Europe (EPO), illustrating differences in volume and dynamics across regions. Dr. Eleftheriou also presented Greece’s position relative to the European average, underscoring both the challenges and opportunities for strengthening innovation at the national level.
The presentation then focused on the patent mapping methodology, explaining the core stages of identifying, filtering, and evaluating technologies using international patent databases. Following a short overview of the e-CODOMH B2B project, selected results from the patent studies conducted for innovative products within the project were showcased. These findings highlighted major technological trends, solution maturity levels, key players in the global market, and commercialization prospects. This section offered attendees a comprehensive understanding of how patent data and insights can strategically guide future technological decisions and new product development.
Seven Sigma’s participation in the e-CODOMH Conference 2025 reaffirms the company’s commitment to research, innovation, and the development of products and consulting services that address both market needs and emerging sustainability demands.
