The transition of the Greek economy to a model of technological intensity that draws its competitive advantage from high added value products and services, is a key challenge for the planning of the upcoming 2021 - 2027 programming period in the field of “Research, Technological Development and Innovation“ (RTDI). Addressing and dealing with the obstacles that hinder the proper functioning of the innovation system is a crucial issue in this endeavor.

The identification of innovation obstacles throughout the national system and the formulation of specific proposals in order to resolve them, was the object of the "Study for resolving the innovation diffusion and development barriers in Greece - September 2020”, which was prepared on behalf of the General Secretariat for Research and Technology (GSRT).

The study was carried out by Seven Sigma under the guidance of Dr. Odysseas Cartalos and Dr. Minos Eleftheriou and is an essential requirement for the planning of the Programming Period 2021/27. For the implementation of the project, Seven Sigma conducted an extensive research in the National Innovation System and examined the course of implementation of a series of political proposals.
